Lesedi is reliant on financial donations to cover the salaries of our teachers, nurses, equipment and consumables, construction and other projects. Should you wish to make a monetary donation we pledge that 100% of the amount we receive will be spent on the project – there are no deductions for administration or overhead costs once funds are received by us.
All donations are received into the Ngoko Charitable Trust, a UK-registered charity we established to support Lesedi School (Charity No: 1163965).
Our preferred donation method from the USA is to mail a check to our US-partner, Generosity in Action (GiA). Generosity in Action is a designated fund at Philanthropic Ventures Foundation - a qualified US 501(c)(3) public Charity.
Donations by Check
For donations by check, please make out your check to "Philanthropic Ventures Foundation” and note on the “memo” line on the check “Lesedi School & Clinic”. If you have a preference for how the funds are allocated then please attach a note to your check or email Fiona with your instructions.
Checks should be sent to Generosity in Action c/o Philanthropic Ventures Foundation, 1222 Preservation Park Way, Oakland, CA 94612-1201.
This is the most cost effective option as the only deduction is a 2% admin fee, charged by Philanthropic Ventures Foundation.
It is also possible to make an online donation by clicking here.
You should specify the amount and select whether the donation is to be one-off, monthly or quarterly. You also need to select the project “Lesedi School & Clinic (Ngoko Charitable Trust)”, so that the donation is allocated to the correct project. If you have a preference for how the funds are allocated then please add a note in the "Special Purpose" box or email Fiona with your instructions.
This method incurs a 3% transaction fee to cover credit card fees, bank fees, and other processing costs; in addition to the 2% admin fee, charged by Philanthropic Ventures Foundation.
Either donation method will result in a qualified tax-deductible donation.
